Stand Alone Pre-pro Suggestions

Sorry for all the posts, but I am giddy with possibility. Since a third Anthem SE amp has surfaced, and if I can justify the expense, I am considering running a third for use with HT. Two biamping the fronts and a third for the center and rears, which I would think is ample power. My new Pre 2L has a passthrough so I believe this scenario should work.
In the event I do so, I am looking for suggestions for dedicated processors that would do a great job. I currently have a brand new NAD T-773 which would be on the open market. I can't see any reason to use a $1000, 7 channel AVR as a prepro unless a seperate processor is just too cost prohibitive. I'd love to find a processor with a tuner, but that isn't a must. I am sure a Sonic Frontiers piece would be a perfect match, but I don't know that they are in my range.
I'm only running 5.1 currently, but would like to have the flexibility to expand, so I want a seven channel capable piece. I can't envision anything more than $500-1000, and $500.00 is more what I have in mind, but I am open to suggestions at anything close to this range. My ideal would be to purchase a very good processor for $5-600 and have $400-500 left over from the sale of the NAD.

I think your best bet in that price range (maybe a bit more) is the Sherwood Newcastle P-965 used...if you can find one. It is an outstanding performer for the money.Sharp Elite 70
