Considering starting my purchase of my LSi setup but have a question. If you were going to purchase a LSi setup, brand new, what would you go with as far as your front speakers? Would you purchase 9's or 15's. Space is really not a concern with me do to having the room but I'm just curious why one likes bookshelfs compaired to floorstanders. I currently use a SVS PB12-Plus/2 subwoofer so the low end is covered.

If you're only going to use it for HT, I would go with the 9's; If you plan to also use the fronts for 2 channel music, I would go with the 15's. Of course, if money is not an issue, get the 15's....you won't have to think on how to place them at the right height (stands, etc).

Money delta not an issue, 15s hands down. Money and space and positioning an issue, 9s.

The difference is much more than just the bass (though the 15s outdo the 9s in extension and accuracy.... no hump), the difference lies in the midrange. There is the 9's midrange... and there is the 15's MIDRANGE.

I dont think I can explain it better than by "caps locking" it.

If you go music, go 15s.

I was happier with the LSi9's in my home, mainly because the bass of the LSi15's was uncontrollable in the room I had them, probably because of the downfiring power port on a wood floor in a room suspended over a garage. If the LSi15's are set up on a solid slab floor, I'd go with them. I also think the LSi15's look nicer.

Just looked at your system showcase. Hell, yeah -- 15's.

Invite me over when you get them.

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I got mine Lsi15’s 3 weeks ago and still breaking them in. So far the SQ is awesome. Get the Lsi15’s for sure you get bigger soundstage with the towers as oppose to 9’s.

Depends on the room. If you've got standing wave problems, then bookshelves +subs are a better choice. Basically, you can put a subwoofer where ever you want, but the mains have to go at the front of the room and it's not too odd for them to be sitting in the best place to excite at least one of the room's modes.

It takes having a bad room before you realize how much it can impact the sound of your overall system.

Anyhow, assuming you've got a good room, then the 15's win my vote.
