Is this a good or bad idea?

Alright for the past months I've been runing my sub using the line in inputs with my sub, it just sounds better that way to me, and split the outputs from the sub back to my amp to biamp my rti10's, well kinda of. anyway when I turn of my sub I notice that the bass from the 10's was not what I felt it should be so what I decided to do is split the L & R channels at the back of my HK with the speakers set to large, and run one of those to the sub and send that signal to the the channel on my amp that power the top half of my 10's and send the unfiltered signal to the channel on the amp that powers the bottom end to get the full bass responce from the low end but send a 50Hz crossovered signal to the top end. really haven't had a chance to put the spurs to it yet, but before I do I wanted to see what some of you thought about this set up. Thanks for your comments good or bad, tell me what you think.

don't take this the wrong way.. but your system the way you have explained it in your post. sounds FUBAR to me. If you don't know what that means.. have someone explain it to ya. ha ha

Seriously.. dude you got some nice gear there.. it should kick **** if set up right. Personally, i like to keep things simple as possible.. no ghetto bi amping, no running my fronts off the sub amps.. nada crazy **** like that.

You got a nice pre, a nice amp.. and all the speakers to go with it.

what's wrong with runnning all your speakers except your sub off the Outlaw amp from the pre amp outputs? Simple, should sound pretty damn good too.

You asked for comments.. good or bad.

I don't consider what you are proposing to be fubar. You will end up with double bass output when your sub is on (mains and sub). Whether this sounds good or not, depends on your setup.

Experimenting to find out what works and doesn't, I think is a good thing.

I thought it was a pretty simple set up I just use the subs crossover to keep the lower bass from going to the highs an mids, and yes I know what FUBAR is was that from Full Metal Jacket?

Sounds FUBAR to me! His system..hooked up properly (and much more simply) should kick some serious ****!!

I was experimenting with that setup to tell the truth it didn't sound that bad the dual 7'' drivers on the rti 10's handled the full range sound fairly well, but since I've added the svs i don't have to look for extra bass output . And its really not that FUBAR all you have to do is get a couple of rca splitters and ajust a few crossovers and your set.

Ditto - 100%. I am totally lost on the first couple lines. KISS - Keep it simple.

why wouldnt you just run all your speakers off your amp and have a sub out from your pre going to your sub? the crossovers in your speakers take care of which range of frequencies go to which drivers. your towers should not have to worry about getting too much bass, they were built to take it so just give them juice and enjoy.
