Well, my adcom finally arrived.

ONE CHANNEL IS BLOWN!!!!!!!!!

the right side channel has no output at all, i even took the left side wires and hooked them to the right just to make sure, totally dead.

Anyone know if these amps are repairable, id hate to get rid of it after just spending $100 on it :(. Could really use it for my Monitor 10's

Pop the top and check the fuses...I believe there are two per side @ 1A 250V.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    I LOVE YOU!(jk not really)

But anyway, I did what you said, and blammmmmmo, blown 4a250v fuse.

Walked into my garage to my car audio and home audio fuses and terminals bin. I just happened to have 100 of them(dont ask).

Swapped it out, and now i have a working 2 channel amp for my monitor 10s. Now to just get the wiring under control and my home theater should be bumping in my little tiny basement apartment :D

Thanks again, this thread can be closed.

glad you got your Adcom amp working... Doro knows his stuff.. easy fix.. and it saved you some $ cuz had you taken it to a repair shop.. they would have charged you for looking at it.. and the cost of the fuse mark up. Minimum of a $60 repair job.

enjoy your Adcom amp, and pictures are required once you get everything set up. ;)

This is something you should always look for in an amplifier and just happens to be a common Adcom problem. I'm glad you're up and running again.

No way those are Monitor 7s next to the TV. Monitor 7s were only 4" shorter and 2" narrower than Monitor 10s. Unless you got some trick photography going on, those are most likely Monitor 5. Maybe your rears are the smaller 5Jr.

now you need the middle child.. the Monitor 7's with the peerless tweeter.. and you'll have a nice combo of vintage monitor line up. :)

(I knew those HAD to be 5's) ;)

That's a good price for the GFA-545II. I guess you had to go through a trial to show you were worthy of it :) .
