So a couple weeks ago I order a new CD. It has a song I really fell in love with for some strange reason after listening to a rap type station all day. The artist is Beyonce and the song is Deja Vu. I know, not for everyone.

Welll, anyway I kept checking every night at the mailboxes thinking I wanted to pop it in the car CD player so I could at least get a listen on the way through the development as my CD player at home is disconnected for now.

Last night it finally arrived! On vinyl! Well, the ad said album but nothing about vinyl. I've noticed a lot of recordings are still called albums and sometimes even LP's even though they are on CD. I learned awhile back that if it doesn't say vinyl, it isn't.

Too much bass but then again, I'm sure the CD is the same way. Still, its always cool to find new releases on vinyl. I'm wondering what the other people who ordered it are thinking? What is this black thingy and why did I order it???

Sounds a little Deja Vuish :D . I wouldn't mind seeing her on a album cover. Where did you order it from or is it available on vinyl everywhere?

    Now thats crazy...

Linkin Park released their "music" on vinyl. I wonder if Chester sounded...better? on vinyl than CD...

True. I was surprised the last time I visited the record store. I buy most of my cd's from there and found a vinyl section of awesome metal bands. I already have the cd's but never thought it would appear on vinyl. They're recent releases too! Makes me want to start a TT set up now.

    MM,
I'm curious where you ordered the "album" from since so few vendors deal in vinyl.

I ordered it on amazon.com. That is why I was so surprised. You just know a bunch of CD buyers are receiving it...

Dr.Dre and NWA, yea I have varied tastes. I keep them right between my Nancy Sinatra collection and Michael Jackson. :)

Hey man, you won't get any funny looks from me on the variety. In my collection, you will find everything from the gangster rap, to industrial techno, trip hop, new wave 80s, classic rock, classical, opera, jazz, and just about anything in between. Even got plenty of country and oldies.

Amazon, eh? Was it shipped directly from Amazon or from one of their "Marketplace" sellers?

One of the marketplace sellers. Caiman was the name on it. It came up under a bunch of names though. Happy B'Day was the title. The rest of it is pretty good too.

Does amazon have a vinyl section? would be nice to get a list of their vinyl if they have a nice selection.

Not really. The other problem is that you never know what you will get from the 'marketplace' sellers.

For the past several years I've been ordering almost everything from them, usually the lowest priced ones and usually used and have never received anything that didn't meet my expectations. BTW, the used stuff has never had any signs of human contact, finger prints, dust etc. Could just be lucky I guess.

    Bill,
    Thanks for the reply.

    Madmax,
I also order a lot of music from Amazon. You're right about the used cd's. I've ordered a few and they're in perfect condition. They look brand new except for a small hole punched through the bar code.

I know, I was going to do that quite some time ago. Soon. I still have to finish up Mikes LP recordings first which are way behind (but almost done :)) and I got hit with a job thing and a house thing. Whew, what a creepy year this has been...
