I was planning on upgrading my LSi9's but at my curent budget I didn't want to make a lateral move. I will wait until i am ready for an upgrade.
I just purchased a set of Zebracables (10AWG) and am planning on putting more power into the 9's hoping this brings them out more.
I ran into these measurements on the net and wondered if anyone was interested in commenting on them

I saw somewhere else that they we measured to dip down to 2.2 ohms, so yea, it is pretty low.

I feel like their low end response is better than what those graphs show- polk claims -3db of 50hz and I've always been amazed with how low the 9's hit. I wonder if the tester had some room effects **** with the results.

edit: nope they've got an anechoic chamber.

I remember someone saying that the 9's had the lowest impedance dips out of all the LSi series, so those numbers seem to make sense

yes, they are indeed that low. when i switched my lsi9s from using my outlaw amp to my home integrated car amp (able to double power all the way down to 1 ohm), I got a lot more bass as well as more dynamic range.

I see an upward slope in the 90hz range how would one go about flattening this? perhaps EQ? a crossover above this region would be a waste of nice lower midrange the speakers can put out, even though my HSU is musical I don't think I would want it to handle that frequency, just thinking aloud.
I know an upward slope in that region is common among speakers but do some people take a slope like that seriously?

The 9s dont extend too low, I forget the exact extension range but I remember I measured it one day and it's below 50, but above (well above) 38hz.

The graphs suggest a midbass peak.... and I've heard about this phenomenon with the 9s mentioned in several places. There is a midbass peak, and it accentuates the bass a bit.

50Hz sounds just about right for me with my 9's. It's the fact that they sound so flat until the steep roll off that makes them sound very powerful.
