Yet another dedicated circuit question...

I'm finally getting my t.v. wall mounted next week. Is there any reason to run a dedicated line to the t.v.? (there is no outlet at the t.v. mantle mount postion.)
My installer wants to use a wall mounted, inwall type system using a Panamax outlet that in turn runs power from the corresponding inlet, through the wall. The power conditioner itself will plug into the inlet. He believes this should be fine and it gets around the fire code/insurance requirements that disallow running attached A/V power cords through the wall. My Clean Line Jr. will be plugged into the wall and then into whatever power conditioner I go with, and I believe the power outlet has additional conditioning as well, so the power from the wall will be cleaned up like a champ.
Tapping off an existing outlet for an electrical box in the wall is $150.00 flat rate. I don't know the additional cost, if any, to run a dedicated circuit, but if its another $50.00 or so, it will be about the same as my cost on the Panamax in wall setup. The Panamax is the easiest route, so unless a dedicated circuit is of great value, that's the route I'm likely to use.
My other thought was to go with a dedicated circuit and use it for both audio and video needs by plugging the conditioner into that circuit and of course then plugging all into the conditioner.

Look like a good plan. Running a new line is gonna be a lot more than $50... depending on the length back to the box, it might cost that much in copper.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

I REALLY like the idea. I'm sure it'll be less than a dedicated run, but that'll depend on the panel's location to the outlet.

If you are referring to the flat panel t.v., it is only a few feet away. The t.v. is probably 20 feet from the breaker box panel if that's what you mean.UNIVERA
