I have a Polk rm6750 speaker package hooked up to a Sony 7.1 receiver. The sound is ok except for the dialogue. I have to turn the volumn up to an unconfortable level to hear dialogue on most tv shows. Would a better center speaker (with larger speakers) help? We sit about 10 - 12' back from the plasma which is mounted on the wall.

Go into the setup menu of your Sony receiver and adjst the levels +/- as necessary for each channel.

    hey! rbjax

are you using a spl meter to setup the speaker levels, also on some cable channels the audio dialogue is reduced by at least -4 to -5 db's i also have to crank up the volume on my system and like you i thought the same thing of purchasing a better center channel which i did but it cost me a fortune because with upgarding the center speaker i upgraded my reciever to seperate amps and pre/pro and i still have to take it up a couple of notches. so bigger doesn't awalys mean better.
