MTV's the State on iTunes

Anyone remember the sketch comedy show "The State" that was on MTV in the early 90's? It's kind of a cult favorite thing, you either remmeber and love it or have no idea what it is and don't care. I had a group of friends in college, and we had this one crappy VHS tape of the show's entire run that got passed between us for years.

Well there's been a long battle with MTV for them to release DVDs of the show, basically since the DVD craze began. Well, they made a step in the right direction by releasing the first season on iTunes. It's basically a trial run, if it does well enough they'll release the rest of the seasons.

If you care, go to the iTunes store, click on TV Shows, then MTV, and towards the bottom is the State. $1.99 per episode, $9.95 for all 5.

Sorry if this seems like a spam / advertisement, haha.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Hell, Yes I remember the State!!!!

Do you remember the Sesame Street skit? Where the family has a couple over and serves them a blue "roast"? "Where did you get this wonderful dish?", they ask. "Oh, it's easy..." So the husband goes to the window and asks "I really wish I could count to three?" or "How's the Alphabet Song go again?"

Some blue muppet comes to the window sill to teach 'em a song, and he club him with a frying pan or a bat....

    serves 'em up

    FREAKING HILARIOUS!!!

    I love that show
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

    Hahahaha, yes.

"What's this blue... meat, is it?"
"Oh yes, it's muppet. We never had it before until we moved to the area. Bill has become quite the hunter."
"I SURE COULD USE SOME HELP TYING MY SHOES!"

    Great skit.

    Another favorite...

the faux-Snuggles fabric softener skit, where the woman's hawking the product while ironing. Then the Snuggles Bear starts climbing up the ironing board simultaneously endorsing the product...

At which point, she FREAKS out, grabs the iron and proceeds to pummel him to death...

man, I'd forgotten about all of these...

    Thanks:D

Wow, mtv actually made a decent show besides beavis and butthead! Nowadays when I'm flipping through channels, I make sure I skip over mtv (and vh1 and E). reality tv and celeb gossip makes me puke... ok, I don't, but you get the point.

    How about old-fashioned guy?

"Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I think we should worship the sun and moon as powerful gods... and fear them. "

"Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but it seems to me that when the giant that holds up the earth dies, we are screeewwwed! "
