Lsi15's setup in stereo mode?

Just wondered how you guys setup your Lsi15’s in stereo mode? I’m still tweaking with mine as they have only 35 hours on them and I have absolutely no experience with this.

First I had them set to “Large” and played with the big sub. The bass was not right with the Lsi15’s 8” subs and the big sub playing simultaneously. So I turned the volume down on the big sub a few -dB and it was better, but not by much (crossed at 60Hz). So I turned off the big sub totally and let the Lsi15’s play by them selves. This was a lot better, but I wanted more bass.

Than I set the Lsi15’s to “Small” and turned the big sub on again and it was music to my ears.

Just wondered how you guys set your Lsi15’s in stereo mode. With big sub without a big sub and what are your crossover settings ...........blah......blah.......blah.........Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Gator, I use my 15 exclusively for 2 channels, and pair it with a REL sub. I think what you experience is more along the Quality of LSi15 bass, rather than what's lacking. Since I use an integrated amp, it's pretty much defaulted to Large (full frequency spectrum). I wasn't satisfied with LSi15 by itself, without sub, as I found its bass quality to be loose and a bit sloppy. I need mine to be very tight, a tad puncy, and sounded like a live bass.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

in my theater, I run it small with the sub. I have run them solo in 2 channel as well with good results in my basement. My basement is known to have serious bass issues, and the 15's overcame them readily. It was one of the major things that impressed me about the speaker. the issues I have in my basement are pretty unique though.

When I had a room that didn't have standing wave issues I went with large and if you use a sub, set the crossover at or below 40hz.

It you set 'em small, you might as well save the cash and buy LSi 9's.
