Hey everyone, I'm new here, I just bought a 5.1 LSi system, LSi 15 front, LSi C center, LSi FX rear, and PSW 1000, I think it sounds awesome. and before people start flaming me saying wrong topic, please read on. I am mainly concerned with the 2ch aspect of this as I am more into music than movies. I currently have an Onkyo TX-DS696. I know these speakers (the LSi 15s) would sound much beter if I had a more serious amp pushing them. My plan is to use the Onkyo (for now anyway) as a pre amp for the fronts and amp for the center and rears. So my question is what would be a good amp sub $1000 range around 200w per ch. Any and all suggestions welcomed. Thanks in advance for the advice.

    Around $1000 or less?

You have several choices... you can get a low end Classe or a mid-end Rotel, for example. If you move up a few hundred, and you should, you can get my amp used for around $1300.... the Rotel RB1090, an amp that should serve you well for many years.

There are other amps, many more.... like the Parasound A21 which can be had for about $1200-1300... or many older variations of it. There are also numerous Toooob amps that many here would probably recommend.

That $1000 mark is a good budget to be in if buying used.

Joey V is right. There are many good options in this price range.

For what it's worth I have the smaller version of the Parasound amp Joey_V mentioned and have been very happy with it. It is the Parasound Halo A23. Rated at 200Wpc into 4ohms. This amp can be had new or used for well under $1k.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

    Enjoy your new system!

I know it's not what you asked for & more than you wanted to spend, but I say buy once & be done with it!

I have the Sunfire & I love it. Unless it breaks I don't anticipate needing another amp in my lifetime!

Even if it does, Cathy, you can send it to Shonomish, WA., and get it right...

I second the Sunfire. 800 WPC peak at 4 Ohms. It would blow you away.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I actually work for Tweeter I'm a custom integrator, but I'm just getting into 2ch seriously so I want a good 2ch amp for my LSi 15s I've already started researching the suggestions. I am very happy with my speakers and I know that they are going to be so much better when they break in and I get a good amp to push them. Thanks again for all the input. Oh and since I work for Tweeter I got my whole system for 75% off of retail which equates to $1200. Being in the industry has its advantages
