Your Halloween Costume?

Its time to start thinking about that again.

My place of work requires us to dress up for Halloween. I need ideas. Good ideas.

What are you going as for Halloween this year? If you are too cool for dressing up this year, what has been your favorite costume of years past?

I want to be the Dude from teh Big Lebowski this year. I'm not going to trim my goatee for the entire month of October, now all I need is a dingy bathrobe and some sunglasses and a wig, and I'm golden! :)
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Have you ever been to Lebowski Fest? It started here in Louisville about 5 or 6 years ago, and has pretty much gone global. It is absolutely insane.

It would be entertaining to check out, for sure.... but no I have never been. The closest one to happen near me was last year in NYC, according to the website.

Thanks for the link. I forgot how much I like the poster art for the event.

    Sorry for the derail:)

I think you should go as the baton that whacked Nancy Kerrigan in the knee.

    Madison Wisconsin..?

what do they do? I know in Chapel Hill it's literally a huge block party spread across 5or more blocks on Franklin Street. 50,000 show up easily.. 2004, the last year i went had almost 90,000.

Well, they're charging because of damage to property last year. They're expecting no less than 50,000 on State Street alone. $5 a pop for passes alone. That doesn't include the surrounding campus, where there are thousands of house parties going on.

UW-Madison is known for it's parties. Kept off of party school lists because they're defaulted #1, and it's well earned. :D

    I've heard that....

About 7 years ago Western Kentucky University won the award (I forget from which publication), but it came with the stipulation that UW-Madison was the true champion.

    no lie

Guess it goes w/o saying that I'll be at franklin st in Chapel hill... haven't decided on a costume yet, though- I've got two friends that are ringers for the dude and walter- they're trying to tlak me into donny, but I don't look a damn thing like steve buscemi.

Know what really freaks me out about franklin st the last few years? the guys with the really expensive cameras... You know those picures are going straigh up on GGW and I don't want to be the guy in the background (staring at the crazy **** with her skirt over her head).

I think us Illinoisian's could give them a run, but I've been over the border too many times to count, or rememebr for that matter, and they are the true champions. Some of the best 'effing block/house parties I've ever attended have been in Madison Wisconsin.

I'd say a plug and wall socket is more appropriate. ;)

    Old thread, I know...

but I caught Electric Six last night at the Southgate House in Newport/Cincinnati. Ridiculously awesome show, as those of you who have seen them can attest...

anyway, I was talking to their drummer while one of the opening bands was playing and the subject came up concerning the wildest, most bilegerent, off-their-rockers, insane town to play in and he said Milwaukee -- bar none. Not even close... as wild as their shows can be (and they're absolutely crazy), he said you can expect to multiply the insanity by a 100 whenever they play that city. More drunk people usually find their way on stage than off it...
