ohms, voice coils?

hey there im gonna be purchasing some new subs within a few and i was wondering wat will be the loudest deepest bass possible, 8 ohms, 4 ohms? dual voice coil wat? i want loud!!ear punching

    Ohms are a measure of resistance and have nothing to do with how loud a sub is.

    more or less ohms doesnt mean how loud the sub is, take a $5 8 ohm sub and a $500 8 ohm sub and im willing to bet the $500 one is louder. You base what ohm configuration to pick based on your amplifier. Is your amp 1 ohm stable? 1/2 ohm stable? Once you figure that out then you can pick the config on your subs.

    Two dual voice coil 2 ohm subs can be wired down to 1/2 ohm,
    Two dual voice coil 4 ohm subs can be wired down to 1 ohm,
    Two duel voice coil 8 ohm subs can be wired down to 2 ohm, and so on.

    As far as loud, its all relative in a car, you could have window shattering loud or you could have nice, clean loud that you can actually still hear the music. If you are looking to just make a statement with how loud your car bass is, I reccommend a for sale sign for your car and ride a bicycle. Save the loud for your house when it is just you and your family around. No need to piss other people off.
