There is a Velodyne HGS-10 for sale close to me.. the problem is.. the seller says it's not working properely. he says there is a whooping sound coming from the driver..
does that mean the driver is probably shot, and in the voice coil is damaged?
or he claims he called Velodyne and they said he needs a new amp circuit board?
what do you all think? The sub was around $1400 msrp back in 1999 when it was new. Onecall still sells that model or and updated model or over a grand still.
should i just pass on it? or should i take a chance and buy it and get it fixed?
I hate to get things fixed.. but if it required a new amp or circuit board. and not have to ship the whole subwoofer, that might not be to bad. who knows.

If it were me, I'd Pass. Well, how much is he selling it for? If it is dirt cheap and you feel confident about taking subs apart for repair maybe it could be a fun project, if this is your thing.

$99 dollar opening bid.. i don't know the reserve price.. he has a BIN of $250 so i'm thinking the reserve is close to that.
I think i will pass on it. i don't need a headache like that. it's a tiny little sub too. at only 11 inches cubed. 10" driver.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
