Hey, it was posted on Audioholics.com....

Here's the detail. Note the sign behind the subwoofer? Remote control....1,000 watt digital amp....and as the described in the link, some kind of proprietary patent-pending room correction system.

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

They look sort of like those fancy little European front loading washing machines.

Is that a passive radiator I see underneath?

It'll be interesting to see the product reviews from owners come in after the release. I hope Polk can get their act together on subs. Many sub companies are eating their lunch!

They certainly are purty. If you look at the AH page with the sub lineup, the one on the end looks like it's a 15...big cabinet anyway.

In talking with someone from Velodyne, I was told that Klipsch sells more subs than any other manufacturer, though Velo is number 1 as a sub only (mostly anyway) OEM. I'm sure Polk is right up there with Klipsch considering their retail footprint. Design choices and tradeoffs dictate performance in the retail space. I'm sure Polk could create a really high end, performance sub that competes, but how many units will they sell to offset the R&D and startup costs...again tradeoff.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

    Yes.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

A PR on bottom with maybe 1" clearence if placed on a hardwood floor? Looks like if you have it on a high pile carpet then the PR would hit at higher levels.

The new subwoofer line looks very nice. Even the entry level subs, which will replace the PSW10 and 12, look very nice.

There were no specifications listed. I asked several people, but there is nothing available yet.

    Interesting...

Maybe they'll do below 28hz... Look good, none the less.
