In car vid of my Mustang @ the drag strip

Here is a short vid of my 03 Mach 1 Mustang at a local 1/8 mile dragstrip. Our Mustang club rented it last weekend, and lets just say the rules were relaxed. We could even take a passenger down the strip. The car has stock exhaust manifolds, MRT O/R h-pipe, and Borla Stinger catback. How do you think she sounds? :D

Here is a link to the vid.

I think around a 8.7 or so. Best I could muster was a 2.0 60' and it was about 90 degrees and high humidity-we actually left early because it started drizzling :( Gotta love the southern afternoon rainshowers...Our local track is actually 1/4 mile (Memphis Motorsports Park)-this 1/8 track was in Jackson, TN about an hour northeast of Memphis. Best time at MMP was last fall in some really good weather-12.7 @ 109 on stock tires.

Nice run....what mph in the 1/8? By your 60 ft time and the spinning on your 1-2 shift I can take a guess you were running stock tires and not drag radials....Oh car sounds really good.

I think around 84 or 85 MPH. It's not a great 1/8 mile car because it still has stock gears and has a higher RPM powerband-it comes alive around 4000 and pulls hard up to about it's 6800 redline. I'm not brave enough to try drag radials with the stock 28 spline axles as many Mach owners have broken them even when stock. I came close to building the rearend and putting in some 4:30 gears, but bought the H/T system this year instead :p See what ya'll did to me!! :D

    Very nice. Cool vid.

I just got to drive my buddy's new 2007 GT this weekend. I loved it. I am going to start looking at the new Shelby's.

The Shelby's are sweet! Shelby is also producing a Shelby GT (it's a doctored up GT-not sure on what the actual mods are, but it looks nice) which should be cheaper than a GT500 .

Check out SVTPerformance.com. They have a complete section with GT500's-there is one in the 10's already. I think it has a pully and tune with drag radials or slicks. Do a search over there for a twin turbo Ford GT video. It's about 200 megs/20 minutes long, but it's awesome. Made 1000 RWHP on the stock block & fuel system.

From what I've read, there is a rather wide range. Anything from 450 to about 475 RWHP I think. Factor in a 15% drivetrain loss and thats around 517 to 546 flywheel HP. Of course the pig weighs nearly 4000 pounds!!! Ford should put the whole SN197 chassis on a major diet IMO.

435 does sound right. Maybe there was a freak one putting down 450ish...I remember reading that somewhere.
