Hi All,
Just joined, very cool looking community here. I have a pair of 1977-vintage Monitor 10 speakers that I bought new, believe it or not (well, this forum can probably believe it!). They've been around the Horn a time or two, I'll tell you. Their last duty was serving the system of my 18 yr old, who decided to head off to college with a couple of, uh, more compact speakers shall we say. I'm setting them back up again for my own use, and am finding that he had a couple of funky fuses in the back of one of them, and the tweeter wasn't working. It does appear to be the fuses; if I put the two 10A (...well, that's what was in there, who knows when/who put them there...) guys in the "balky" speaker, all is well with the tweeter.

So, my question is, what are you SUPPOSED to put in the upper and lower fuse holders in the back of the Monitor 10? My paper labels on the backs are long gone, etc...I truly have lost the thread on the proper value. Thanks--

1A 250V Fast Blow....found in any fuse section.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Thanks much, I'll get some and use them. I was remembering the two to be considerably different values, tho; I seem to have this dusty image of one of them (...top one maybe??) being a very thin wire, lower-value one, and the other one being a bigger beefier fuse. No? Anyhow, I do appreciate the response and I'll try those in both speakers. Boy, do those things sound great by the way. I may have to try (for the 3rd-4th time over the yrs) to talk my wife into letting me put them back in the main system upstairs...currently they're relegated to the basement, which isn't a bad listenting enviro, but isn't the main event these days...

You'll be fine with 1A in both slots, enjoy!
