They are as described but not worth $500.
You may be right, but some one may not know it and give him that much.

I recall around $400/pair originally. Great cables if your gear can take the high resistance & capacitance they possess. Truly high end stuff that alot of the DIY/tube crowd is copying using transformer winding wire in a similar design.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable
2 Channel Thorens TD 318 Grado ZF1, SACD/CD Marantz 8260, Soundstream/Krell DAC1, Audio Mirror PP1, Odyssey Stratos, ADS L-1290, ICs-DIY Twisted , Speaker-Raymond Cable -

Just like the descriptions. Very transparent and detailed. The soundstage is stunning. Really nice cables...
I haven't really noticed the lack of bass, and I like the lower registers. I was thinking about trying to a/b them with some heavy guage ofc copper, but haven't gotten around to it.
I remember talking to Al about them. IIRC, he recalled Matt saying they were an almost perfect transmission line, but the thing with the discharge killed them. When I later talked to Ken, he assured me they would only affect unstable sand amps, i.e. older first generation designs.
I have two 20' runs. I think I'm going to halve them and terminate 'em (what a pain in the **** that's going to be). -
I believe Russ or Mark or Jesse posted a link to a discussion about these cables a while back. These are something I've looked to own, but I can never find some that are reasonably priced, plus they hardly ever come up FS. They are supposed to be remarkable cables but $425 starting bid for used cables, is a bit insane, IMO
