Hey Guys,

Should I get a SACD or a DVD-A or Universal player? My budget is about $300. Any good recommendations for my setup? IS one format better than the other?

Thanks

SACD is more widely used than DVD-A, at least from what I've seen.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

With the exception of Sony and Philips (SACD co-creators) and Panasonic (major DVD-A promoter), almost all manufacturers produce universal players nowadays. At the $300.00 price point, you may want to check out the Denon 1920/1930, Cambridge Audio DVD-87/89, Onkyo 502 or Pioneer Elite DV-46AV.

When done properly, both DVD-A and SACD can sound amazing.

Get a universal player that way all your bases are covered. Danny's recommendations are good choices.

A universal player is the way to go. You really cannot go wrong with any player you select, or the choices already listed. I would lean towards the Elite, but that's just me. Good Luck!
