Mounting subs in the enclosure

Kim,
Polk's literature says to mount the subs in the enclosure with T-nuts and machine screws for a nice look but all of the T-nuts I have seen are so big in diameter that they wouldn't fit in the small space between the mounting holes and the speaker opening in the box. What I am saying if that wasn't clear is that the T-nuts are about 1/2" in diameter and the mounting holes for the frame of the speaker are only about 1/4" or so out from the speaker opening in the box.
Are there smaller ones out there that I haven't seen?
I mounted my GNX-104's with coarse-thread drywall screws and they seem to be OK but I am a little worried about the screws having a countersunk head. I have heard they can open the speaker mounting holes and cause air leaks. Do you recommend that I replace the drywall screws with something else?
Thanks
Mike
