Getting up in the morning to attend my chemistry class at Kent State. My Dad woke me up and said I better get downstairs to check out the TV.

I went to class that day at 9:30a EST but got sent home around an hour later. Still surreal.

Sitting in front of a Food Lion in my beer truck about to get out when a woman came up to the window and asked if I were listening to the radio. She said a plane had crashed into the WTC. At first I thought it was an accident. I delivered my order and when I came out it was all over the radio.

I was home at the time watching the news. The cable went out as everything was broadcast from the twin towers. I figured that a crew was working on the cable and went to brush my teeth. When i came back i saw the building on fire and then watched in horror as the 2nd plane hit

Driving to work, actually pulling into the parking lot at Datamatic in Plano, TX. I was listening to 'The Ticket', THE local all sports station - right before I shut my truck off - George Dunham said 'I have a report that a plane just hit the world trade center - should we be covering this?' - they had the local ABC affiliate on the TV's in studio.

I figured it was a Cessna, or a another small, private plane. I shut the truck off and went in to work thinking not a lot of it. The next few hours were spend in a haze, trying to get CNN or Fox News to load on the browser.

Flash forward a few hours (and for the next couple of days), a big thing that jumped out at me - we (Dallas in general) are in a flight path for at least 1 of our major airports. Lots of private planes, all the way down to grass strips. I remember going outside for a smoke - and it was super quiet.

No police helos, nothing. No Pipers, no Beechcraft, sure as **** no Boeing. I can say I never noticed the noise when it was there, but I sure noticed it being 'gone'.

I don't want that feeling again. I woke up fine today, but statring about 11am, and it's still here now - I just don't feel right. I've got a 'low' about me. I just feel sad.

All I can remember is the confusion, and worring about my mom, my wife, our cats, etc. What was going on? What do I need to do? I still don't have the answer.

It changed me, beit large, or small - it did, forever.

Sitting on the Mass Turnpike and listening to Don Imus describe the situation. I'll never forget his tone of voice and the incredulity in it when he told us that one of the towers fell. A few hours later I remember being in a Turnpike service area watching on one of the Tv's with about 100 strangers as I saw it fall for the first time.

I don't like what it did to me and how I feel now. I hate now. And don't like it.

I hope we have the strenght to finish it.

I have been in a foul mood all day. Hope 9/12 is better

Woke-up in the morning at Hyatt Regency, Embarcadero, SF, turned on NBC and saw the first tower hit by a "Cessna", according to Matt and Kathy. Not long after, the second plane hit the other tower. I've been traveling to San Francisco at that time, for 2 years straight, and by mid-afternoon, Financial district was deserted. I could have put myself laid down in the middle of Market street, not a single car. That night, I was so overwhelmed with emotion and wept alone in my room.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I agree Russ it was very wierd not hearing panes fly over the house except for the fighter jets that were patroling the sky's over manhatten. Very scary as i did not know was was going to happen next
