A truly sad day for all Americans.

I feel as though I lost 3000 friends and family members on that terrible day....I miss them all and will never forget, or forgive.

Our thoughts and prayer go out to those that lost their lives 5 years ago.

They named it Patriot day on my calendar.

It sounds nice but I think it sounds too much like a day for celebration and not for remembrance.

    We will always remember.

Here's a link to a very touching story on ESPN, about a guy who lost his father that day, and his feelings about the 5th anniversary. Pretty short, worth a read.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

i just hope that no one will ever forget this horrible day, this is the one day where all those protestors just have to shut the f**k up and sit there, when it happened i was only 12, so i had no idea what the hell was going on, i just thought, hey a free day out of school. but now i cant believe i was so stupid. i will remember this day for all of my existance and will teach my kids to teach their kids, to teach their kids.etc... i hope that everyone would do the same so no one will ever forget this day, and as skynut said, i hope it doesnt become a happy, celebrating day like thanksgiving, but a day to just stop and say, damn i hate arabs, lmfao, jk jk jk but i do hope they will stop and be quiet and have a quiet day of remembrance for those brave men and women who gave their lives saving others. dangit i started rambling, ok thats enough for me.

    Nice perspective Van.

I don't have any words, if I did they would be trivial anyway. I'm saddened, but remain hopeful, and will stand in front of any of you guys, should the need ever arise.

I'm proud to be an American.

Well said Frank it was a truly sad day. I watched the ceremony today where the family members read the names of all who lost there lives and it really hits you hard. It shows everyone how we should never forget that day.

Dang.. my eyes are watering after reading that story. Makes you realize just how much we take for granted. A simple, "Goodnight" is his last memory of his father. What about you? What about me? The fight I am in with my wife... is it really worth it? Did I tell my dad he's my hero? I know I slip and fail to cherish those closest to me.

This day is always a day where I can remember that life is short. Too short. Time to set aside petty differences and start loving and living life to it's fullest. Tomorrow may be my last. It may be yours.

    Let's not waste it...

    Very well said, MrNightly.

Listened to a father who had been on the 77th floor of the WTC.
His son worked in the same tower, but on the 100th floor.

No one above the 90th floor made it out alive.

    Moving.
