Dual 1218 turntable - how do you get the platter off?

Anybody know? It doesn't just slide off. There must be some kind of release or something.

It's probably a snap ring on the spindle. Here's the manual for a 1219.

Thank you very much dude! I guess I don't have to take the platter off after all....I was looking for a belt I wouldv'e sworn this was a belt drive. It's actually an idler wheel drive. You should remove the platter for regular maintenance, i.e., clean and oil the spindle well, clean the ilder and inner platter rim, etc.More later,
