I recentley replaced my athena SCT series with the Polk Monitor series.
I am running a Onkyo TX SR803 in a 7.1 setup with Monitor 70's Monitor 40's and a CS2 and am now looking to upgrade my subwoofer thats where I need help.
I am looking to have a very tight sounding base I hate the sloppy base sound however I want it to be a very strong base and very powerful. I need it to be able to fill a 16 X 12 room.
I prefer to stay with polk I like to keep my equipment the same.

Thanks for any input.

Welcome.:) You may prefer to stay with Polk but for subwoofers I don't recommend to do so. Polk makes nice speakers but for some reason their subs are not up to the same level. You can get a different brand sub to integrate well with the Polks you have. What is your budget?

    Thanks for the quick replys.
I guess im not really sure what my price limit is because im realy just starting to look so I think I would like to keep it around 500 to 700 dollars. However if something that cost a little more with better sound I would be willing to adjust my budget.

When I first started building my HT system, I also thought that I needed to keep all the speakers Polk, so I bought an entry level Polk sub. After hanging out on this forum, I learned that the sub is the one speaker that can be from a different company and I also learned that Polk subs deliver a weak performance. So that was my first upgrade and I spent $400 to get a Mirage S12 which I'm very satisfied with. SVS subs are very popular here and lots of people will tell you they are the best subs avail.
