enough power...
hey, I have a pair of the rti10s, 6s and csi5 and psw505. I am using a hk avr335 I know that it will sound better with a seperate amp and i plan to get one later on. But will this receiver do the job and not hurt my speakers?

for now yes. sometimes all you need is a 2 channel amp for your fronts to really make an improvement. of course a 5 channel amp would be better.. but so much of the sound comes from the left and right fronts. that may be all you need to elevate it to the next level.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

You need more power.

OK, I'll rephrase. If you ever decide to add more power, you will be happier.

Agree with DisneyJoe. Start saving & get a 5 channel amp & be done with it. I started with a 2 channel, then added a monoblock, & have finally gotten a 5 channel monster (not Monster, barf) to run all 5 of my speakers! I am finally content as far as power goes!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

that should do fine with those speakers and as said before.. amps only sweeten the deal later on.. sometimes simplicity is where it's at to start anyways..MY HT RIG:

FWIW, I am powering my 8's with my 335 along with my csi3 and rti 4's. They go plenty loud.
Not to highjack but since it was mentioned, if say he and I were to each get a 2ch amp, sure the front mains would have enough juice, but wouldn't the centre and dialogue kinda lack compared to say a 3 or 5ch amp? -
you may have more headroom on certain subject matter on the speakers with the amp, movies or music.. however calibrated.. 75 db is 75db or what ever you calibrate it to.. it should be all equal when setup correctly.. if you drive highs with receiver and lows with the amp as an example.. you may get different levelsMY HT RIG:

Schmilnik, it depends on factors such as the size of your room, your distance from the speakers, how loud of an average level at which you listen and the dynamic range of the program material that you play. At a comfortably loud average level your speakers use about 1 watt; how much more than that is needed on brief peaks depends on the factors mentioned above. If you're not experiencing audible distortion on peaks with your 335 now, then you're fine; relax and enjoy your music. If you have enough power now, using two or three boxes instead of one doesn't bring about any special magic.
