Sony TC-730 Reel to Reel

I just picked upa Sony TC-730 reel to reel at a garage sale for $20. (Pic's later). The unit is in decent shape and the owner says that it works, so I took a chance. I have no R2R's or even a take up reel to try this baby. It's a big mother, weighing about 55 or so pounds. Anyone have any experience with this unit?
I down loaded the user's manual and ordered a service manual. Some of the pots are a little stiff so I am going to use some DeOxit on the pots. Any other refurb suggestions?
