Are these Monitors worth $80?

The thing I'm not liking about these is the horizontal mid placement, which should cause some lovely lobing and cancellations. These would probably only find themselves in my garage for when I'm working on my car or other speaker projects so that really shouldn't hurt them too badly.

Thanks.

Bert, take them! I have way, way too many speakers/projects I'm working on and these would only find themselves serving garage duty, which would be a shame.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, guys, but I'm gonna pass this Showcase Showdown over to bert!

They are mine. . .I was unaware that a member here was looking at them until this minute. . .

Sold my Monitor 10s that I bought last year. . .Turned out they were 2 colors. .One dark and one light. . .I think one was from early in the model run (10b) and the other late because they were different colors. . .

Now these babys. . .They are mint and sweet. . . Oak colored vinyl and a better tweeter. . .No foam ring around the dome though. . . The seller bought them new about 6 or 7 years ago. . .Moving to LA tomorrow and everything big had to go. . .

Long story short I'm happy. . . I would have paid 4 times the 80 bucks for a pair this nice. . . Now I have Monitor 4/5/7/ and 10s. . .Lots of energy for my HT and regardless of what they say I like'em for stereo. . . For the last year I have used 7s and 10s for stereo. . .I like the 10s better, 7s are good but 10s better . . .to me anyway. . .

I asked the seller if he had any lookers and the only thing he said was yes lots of lookers but no money. . .

Anyway I'm tickled pink. . . I really like the 10 and have been looking for a long time for this deal. . .

Home made from Oak veneered MDF panels that I use at work. . . They are a little higher and tilted a few degrees more than I like. I have plenty of panels and intend to build more. . . These were quick and dirty just to get my previous 10s up and tilted back. . . They do sound much better off the floor and tilted back a few degrees. . .
