Anybody ever played Black for PS2 before? I played it at a friend's house (or watched him play it, actually), and it looked pretty interesting. It's a first person shooter. He let me borrow it for a while, so I just started playing it tonight. I can't get past the second level. But I'm so close I can taste it!

Playing the game my damn self. cool game. it has flaws, as do all games, but I can really get into it.

choose your shots carefully. putting your gun setting on single shot makes long distance shots quite a bit more accurate. take the time to try to get the head shot from a distance instead of close combat.

Lou, I need help!! I'm on the second stage as we speak, and I'm farther than I've ever been!! I've found the crossing, gone through the first fence, crossed the little bridge, then gone through that fence, and I've killed everybody in that little section, and now I'm ready to cross the third (and I pray final!) fence, but there's a guy up there shooting RPG's at me! I had full health when I first crossed this third fence, but those RPG's took care of that in no time! I think I'm down a little blow half, and I've got a AK47 and the SPA12 shotgun. I traded the pistol for the shotgun, though I know where the pistol is and can go get it.

How did you get rid of this RPG guy? I've tried picking him off, but at this distance, it doesn't even appear that I'm hitting him! Do tell me this is the last stage of the second round!!

Man, this level goes on forever!! I've already passed that fence, then gone on and crossed the canal, yada yada, and now I'm looking for the farm.

Man, I've never played a game that took this much time! I've been playing this second mission for at least 40 - 50 minutes!

Man, I keep getting knocked out around the farm house. This last time the big ol' guy with the shotgun took me out. Of course I'm staring out the window, so I don't know he's there 'til he takes a big chunk out of my health, then he's got another shot in by the time I get him in my sights, then when I start pulling the trigger I realize he's wearing so much armor he's practically a tank, so I switch to get my shotgun and *bam* I'm dead. At least the last checkpoint isn't that far from the farm house. I'll have to leave my PS2 on over night so I can pick up tomorrow evening, though!

those full armored guys, dont consider using anything other than the shotgun. if your trying to pick guys off, remember, single shot, and remove the silencer if you have it armed for more power if there that far away. keep trying, it took me a while to get a hang of it. wait until the sniper level, your gonna want to chuck that playstation out the friggin window.

the levels only get more tedious dude :D

oh the sniping part is a blast, its getting past the cemetary to the house to get the sniper rifle thats a pain in the nuts. there is a sniper you gottas avoid, and he just pings your arse left and right despite your best efforts.

However, I did go back and do the first level on normal. I just don't think I'm a hardcore gamer.

    I finished, I finished, I finished!! LOL

And it only took me 1 hour, 41 minutes, and 55 seconds. But I missed 5 guys; I got 115 out of 120. :(

Oh, and thanks for telling me to use my shotgun for clearing out the buildings; that was helpful. ;)

Alright, I just finished the third leve! That wasn't so bad. At least I didn't die and have to start over at all on that level.

I took out 141 of 141 bad guys, and it took me 1 hour, 23 minutes, and 34 seconds.

It sure was nice having that girl follow me around, helping me out, even leading me sometimes.

    cool, glad you getting along.

I just finished the Tiviliz Asylum level (maybe 6 or 7 ish level wise, not sure, lost track)

did it on Normal, boy, I would hate to see hard. it was a brutal effin assault. HARD LEVEL. RPG's in windows you couldnt even see. I had to awuat in an area, looking at a building for 10 minutes looking and waiting for the guy to move, then finally pick him off.

then inside the asylum? good lord. I believe the body count was in the 400's, just neverending. The guys crouched behind the bulletproof shields were a treat, they needed a grenade, or you had to sneak around em from behind, or if possible, shoot them from an elevated position.

have fun on that level tiger

I just picked this game up the other day for $10 at EB Games for my Xbox.

Very cool game with great sound. My only **** is that you have to shoot dudes 50 times before they fall. Its a little stupid. I wouldnt think there is a body armor out there that would require 15 shots with an M16 to kill a guy!

Still a very cool game and definintely worth a look for anybody into first person shooters. You can usually find it dirt cheap now that the Xbox's are outdated.
