hey guys i got some banana plugs on ebay and i thought it would be straight forward to set them up but the way they are meant to be use (or so i think) seems like there wouldnt be much contact area between the cable and the plug itself. i have two pictures to show them the first is how i think its supposed to be setup while the second is IMO a better way but im not an expert on this so i want to see what you guys have to say...
sorry in advance for the large pics next time ill resize them more i thought by 50% would do it but guess not.

The second way looks like it's probably right (wire going up middle not wrapped around). It all depends on what kind of plugs they are (how they attach - few different types that use different ways).
If you want to get rid of those photos by editing them people can just look at these ones... those are brutally big

The second choice is correct. There should be a way, either solder or screw, to secure the wire inside the ends.Political Correctness'.........defined

Pfffttt... by less than a minute. Geeze, if I didn't answer his question I might have got ya there
I have a feeling the bottom of the plug unscrews and then you put the wire through the hole in the bottom piece. Then you bend over the wire (think mushroom here) and screw the bottom piece back in. -
yea thats is pretty much how did it the first time around but it feels that the connection on just the cross sectional area is far inferior to having the wire wrapped around IMO so thats why i tried both, the wrap around seems sturdier so who knows

The wrap around is dangerous. You want a solid connection, get some that require the wire to be soldered.Political Correctness'.........defined
