I purchased this today (for the 360 btw), will try to play it a bit tonight and some more tomorrow and post my thoughts later this weekend more than likely. A Japanese RPG in the vein of Final Fantasy before it went MMORPG. Supposedly it has pretty nice graphics and gameplay. We shall see..

Oh rad, I didn't know you were playing Civ4 too. I need to play that again. I haven't played it since I got the 360.

Its a pretty fun game, if you've played any Final Fantasy titles you'll know the game immediately. Graphics are ok, nothing amazing, the voice acting is passable as well. Story is basically the same as every other FF-esque RPG, some new evil was released, you're character is super-special in some way and to you fight a lot of stuff.
The turn-based combat has an interesting change that i hadnt seen in an RPG prior. Instead of just have your dudes against the other bad dudes. Each "side" has a 3 by 4 grid and your people randomly appear on their side at the beginning of each combat. each character's various attacks only attack in specific squares, so some attacks attack 3 "grid squares" directly ahead, some are triangle shaped and so on. So there are some tactical elements to it that are interesting and keeps the repetitive combat tolerable.
Bottom line, if you are looking for a good Japanese RPG in the vein of FF, this is a good title for ya.
