    Probably high for an internet store. That model is discontinued. New model is the 50a2000, which they list as $1850. MSRP is $2699 I believe. Probably better off catching it on sale at a local brick and mortar, in case you have lamp/light engine issues and need the warranty.

    I am indeed somewhat paranoid to ship merchandise at this size without warranty. While there is no sales tax, I will have to pay shippng. I would rather pay a little more for a peace of mind. Thanks for the advise!! Until my 27" Sony CRT is total, I still have time to shop :-)
