New Job!

So I am finally getting out of Circuit City and moving on to another sales position with US Cellular. I have been wanting a position with them for quite some time but just now recieved a phone call that they want to extend an offer of employment.

I'm excited and nervous at the same time. While it isn't the best paying job I have a couple friends who are extremely satisfied with their earnings and the company.

I dislike being the new guy but I am motivated enough at my jobs I figure I'll do fine.

Any suggestions or anything else would be excellent from my fellow polklets

Congrats. Do what you know how to do, do not burn any bridges and do not take any crap from anyone. You'll be fine - go get em.

Always have a better work ethic than the next guy. If you work hard, giving a full days work for a full days pay, you'll knock 'em outta the park.

Reminds me of what a guy told me today at my job. He was sitting around, and I told him jokingly (Not my employee) to get back to work. He said, "I don't get paid enough to work hard." I was like, well duh, you don't get paid enough because you don't work hard.

Regardless, Show them you are the best, and willing to learn if you aren't. :D

    Congrats!!!

I deal with salespeople everyday in my line of work and the #1 thing for me is a salesmen who is himself. Gimmicks are a joke. Be friendly, and knowledgable. Don't sound too polished. Honesty sells.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0972262903/002-0086001-1732018?v=glance&n=283155 - this is another good book if you are in the reading mood...

I read it in like 2 days - very easy and cool read. But I can relate to alot of it in more than one ways, but it puts a perspective on a few things...

Sell yourself, and remember that if they are talking themselves into buying your product, shut up, and let them do the talking, just repeat what they say.
