I have been thinking about trying VOIP for over a year but was reluctant due to the cost.
But I saw this deal from SunRocket for $99/ year
https://www.sunrocket.com/sign_up/linkshare_entry.do?&chn=5&partner=ls&siteID=iH2PRtf_I7g-ar6oO.cfJbh7BOglcTDPyw
and could not resist so I just order the service to try it.
If its works its going to save me bunch of money.

Have any of you tried hooking it up to the internal home phone wiring.
I just bought a new home and I have it fully wired for network and phone.
I have my main connection box in the basement where all the main connection network, cable, phone are hooked up.
So if I connect the Phone Output of Gizmo to the Phone In-Line of the main box connection. Would I have phone connection thru my entire home?

    VOIP goes through your network and out over the internet. Regular phone lines are not used. Get the proper equipment and you will have phone service all over the house.
    No excuses!

    I use SunRocket. For that price, you would be very stupid not to get it. It works great for me.

    I have not yet tried hooking it up through the typical wires. Just wireless so far.

    I will be getting the VOIP adapter as part of the installation kit.
    The Hookup will be like this

    Cable/DSL Modem ----> VOIP Adatper--->Phone/Main Phone Line-In(??????)
    |
    |
    ----> Router
    My question is can I connect the out of VOIP adatper to the main phone line-in at my box.

    Disconnect the telephone companies line at the demarcation point at your house so you dont "backfeed" into their network. This isolates your house and now all you have to do is plug the cable from the output of your VOIP adapter into any phone jack in your house and this will allow any phone connected to your house wiring to use the VOIP service. This setup has worked well for me in the past with VONAGE. Good luck!

    Not that it's necessarily an issue in your area, but power outage means no phone.......

    I have just ported my Embark #, previously Sprint, to Comcast VOIP and have not had an issue. It seems OK but I'm new enough that time will tell and I'll let you know...
