Partial spools of cable

I've got some 1000' spools of cable, and i'm wondering if it's worth selling. My late husband was in the telecommunications field, and over the years we ended up with all sorts of stuff in the garage. These partial (1/2?) spools contain grey pvc shielded wires. There are 12 color coated (pvc again?) wires inside the grey shielding. I'm not sure what identifying information someone would need to know what this is. I've also got some spools of what he called "telephone wire" It's got a whiteish shielding that apparently was designed to make pulling it easier. I tried to use a length of it one time to tie some stuff down but it wouldn't hold a knot. What do I do with this stuff?

    well if you are looking to get some money out of it.. i'd suggest you check ebay for similar cable and price accordingly.

    if you're just looking to get rid of it.. i'd suggest you donate it to a local college/trade school who has an electronics dept.. and i'm sure they would be able to use it and be very happy with the donation.
