Receiver for LSI's

I am looking at upgrading my current Sony ES receiver to a more powerful amp or reciever. I have LSI 15's, LSIC, and LSi/FX. While the old Sony (DA4ES) is hanging in there and sounds good, I am looking for something with more power to feed the LSI's. Does anyone have any opinions/comments on Adcoms new receiver??

Check Rotel RSX-1067. Brute force, tight low end, clean top end, and spank the LSi like its own ****. Sorry, dunno anything about Adcom in this case.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

It looks like it will do fine. Most importantly, it has preamp outputs to add even more powerful amps if needed! Or if your Sony has them you would just have to by a separate amp/s to get more power!

    Welcome Mick.

It's a very nice choice but there are all kinds of options for you. It will definetly provide some more low end slam due to the amplifier design.

Why did you conclude that you needed more power? or do you have the upgrade bug?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I added a Parasound 5250 to my Sony ES30 (using it as a front end); I have Polk LSI9, Center, and FX's. That might work for you. JEFF

Adcom has always made great stuff, I see no reason not to use this.

Look into the Sony 7100es, us it as a pre/pro and add a good power amp. Outstanding results if youre a big Sony Fan as I somewhat am.

I was running my whole LSi 7.1 system off my Sony da4es receiver until 2 weeks ago when I came across a killer deal on a Sunfire signature Series Cinema Grand Seven. I hooked it up using the Sony as the Preamp and it works great. Also just knowing that I have an amp that can feed those speakers 800wpc is great.
If money is issues for an amp check out this little Jewel. http://www.av123.com/products_product.php?section=processors&product=29.1
But I would say keep your receiver and just ad a separate amp. Shannon

I agree with just getting a good amp. Either that or an amp/pre combo rather than a receiver - especially for a full LSI set up. Try Outlaw Audio. Their combos have been very popular with LSI owners.

How do you like the Anthem D2 preamp? I'm looking into ether it or the Sunfire TGP-5. I have a Sunfire dealer close to home that sells Sunfire stuff at 30% off retail. I would not be upgrading from the Sony if I wasn’t anal about having matching components. Thanks! Shannon.

I love it. It sounds incredible and I am enjoying every minute. I have never heard the Sunfire but the D2 has a Genum scaler which is very nice.
