PSW10 vs. PSW303

Hey there,

Both subs are $99 at Fry's and for now I'm only willing to spend $99. I appreciate it, but please don't tell me to get a different sub.

The PSW10 has a 10" driver but is rated at 50 watts.

The PSW303 has a 8" driver but is rated at 100 watts.

The PSW303(RTi series) is $110 more MSRP than the PSW10(Monitor series).

I am playing it with a pair of R15s.

Which sub will do the trick for me? My system is in a small room.

Thanks a lot,

Elmer

I have never heard the 303, but I did recently purchase a brand new PSW10 from a forum member for $100. Performance was so poor, I resold it at a loss the same day.

Port noise starts as low as 75db, and this was with music, at 85db the sub was completely unlistenable, there was more port noise than actual output at 90db.

I have bought a lot of Polk products over the years, and this was the first to totally disapoint me. Polk should be ashamed to even sell it.

    Maybe the 303 is better.

I have a 303 and it sounded pretty good but it seems to be to small for the room it's in now.

For a small room, the PSW303 will be absolutely marvelous!

You should keep the 303 and run a second sub in a room that size. Buy a larger, quality sub for the front and run the 303 on the other side of the room.
You bass will have less dead spots in the room this way.
