Serious post here, not interested in running cases of Mescal from Mexico across the border...

What are you guys doing/would do to supplement your income part time, legally....

I'm looking into UPS, maybe even CC or some such, even considering a paper route..... evenings/weekends...... Something to bring an extra 4-5 bills a month home, so I can reach my goals....

Cheers,
Russ

This is my part-time job. Musical too.
I've been a loader at UPS. Part-time jobs should be enjoyable.
Don't go breaking your back loading trailers.

I was a w/e merchandiser for Pepsi for a few years.
    Another good part-time job.

Depends on your area. I live in NJ, less that 4 miles from the Meadowlands/Giants Stadium/CAA and work part-time as a security guard at the facility. Hours vary with 4 being the min and up to 35 max. Only drawback is you MUST give up your Sundays during football season (Jets/Giants = 8-10 home games per season.

Pluses include seeing concerts, special events such as Disney on Ice and the circus, and the ability to work Devils & Nets games.

Pay is not bad, you can pretty much choose when you want to work, and it is all year round. We are one of the only facilitys that has 6 franchised teams (Jets, Giants, Devils, Nets, MetroStars soccer & Gladiators arena football).
Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support
group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar.

What does a merchandiser do? And how would one find out what positions are available?

Wonder if I could be a beer merchandiser?

Russman, The answer is right in front of you.

This forum has a collection of some very talented people. We enjoy the film and music reviews, harware issues and settup, configuration's for HT and 2Ch. You guys collectively have tought me a lot about my own HT Craze just over the past few months. "And its been fun!" The sky is the limit here if you want my opinion.

You guys could could settup a "Novice Test Zone" for the types like me and the many who are not educated on all the options available. Set up systems, write equipment reviews, design low cost Man Cave options..... God, I could go on and on.

If a group of people just from this site were to get together, Hell i might even invest in the kickoff. ****, I'd be better off than my IRA's for damn sure.

You really should think about it?

I think the beer one involves you driving the beer truck as well as stocking. You go to the company and see if they have any merchander openings. Like for pepsi, etc, you drive your own car to different locations (your assigned route) and stock up the product on the floor.
    It's tiring work tho.

I'm an adjunct prof at a local college 20 weeks out of the year. I teach hazardous waste management in the Env. Mgt curriculum. I rake in an additional $6K/yr and that pretty much funds my hobbies.

I also offered to be an on-call sniper for the local SWAT team - $5000 per confirmed kill. They would have nothing of it - liability and what not. I was SOOOOO disappointed..........

My buddy was at a gym one time and a guy in the locker room asked him if he was interested in doing ****. Told him he would pay him $500 to choke his chicken in front of a camera. My friend got the hell out of there as fast as he could. But for some who need money, may not be a bad idea :D

I've had a part time job for over 15 years. One day a week. I use the cash for the necessitys. You know, amps, speakers, computers, cars etc. Over the years it has provided about $100 a week. You can figure out the total. Add in all the store discounts and benifits and you have a pretty whopping sum over the years! It takes time though. A better way may be to utilize ebay, ubid etc and become a junk salesman. Buy low and sell high! Remember, stuff you think is junk is priceless to others.
