As a UNCG alumnus, I'm not surprised. Lots of college campuses across the country have very strange courses.
On the bright side, most kids grow up learning a lot from the boob tube, so why not use television as a learning tool at the college level? Some televisions shows are thoroughly researched with lots of social commentary. I could definitely see "The Wire" being used as an excellent learning tool. I've never watched Buffy, so I don't know about that one.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Say Read-alot... how old are you again???
Usually people that insult college universities have never been to one to begin with.
Keep rockin' old man. -
All this love brewing in the Tarheel state:D
I thought the Duke/UK rivalry was bad:eek:
We had our fair share of "strange" courses at my college, but a lot of them ended up being more insightful (and dare I say -- useful) than a number of more traditional classes.I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore -

You know you are actually stupid enough to think that that's an insult.
I bet if they offered up a Jerry Springer class, Read-alot would be the first in line to get his GED. -
