Sub wiring confusion

Finally have all my components set up and now I'm hanging and wiring the RM6900 speakers.
Why does Polk recommend NOT using the pre sub out amp connection to the sub input? (LRE)
What's the purpose of it if not to use?
I'm powering the speakers with an Onkyo TXSR603.
Thanks,
Joey

Hi! In your case is not so difficult, because you have an LFE input (Unfiltered). So if you go with it, the only filter active will be the receiver´s xover. Polk recommends speaker level to avoid double filtering. I have the 6800 and I get the best sound through line level input than speaker level. Try both and listen what is best to you.

Thanks, but still confused.
The Polk link contadicts itself re: satellites and subwoofer.
My question again is why does Polk include the coax sub input LRE and then advise you not to use it? I bought a digital coax cable. Should I not use it?
Crarliez, what exactly does "line level input than speaker level" mean and how do I accomplish it?
Problem is that I'm having major back problems and would like to try to avoid pulling the compoments in and out of the cabinet a dozen times.
Sorry to sound like I don't know what I'm doing, but I don't.
All help appreciated.
Thanks,
Joey
