...down the tubes. Driving to work this morning, I hear a PIIING blat blat blat blat. The ol' f150 blew a spark plug right out of the head. Threads are totally stripped out now. Damn. The right way to fix it is to pull the head. I'll be doing the quick and dirty heli-coil while its still together in the truck.
Lots of grease on the tap, use a shop vac, and run it with no spark plug in that cylinder trick. Worst case, I screw up the head and have to pull it anyhow. This will have to be tomorrow, since its raining tonight
Was thinking about a new truck, but the money is a bit too much for right now. All 2 channel system upgrades are on hold for a while.

The helicoil, if done correctly, should be as strong as the original thread. I would suggest bringing the piston up on a compression stroke to make getting the junk out a little easier. Find that tang when you break it off. Good luck.>
