Hi everyone!
New to the forum and new to the SDA line of speakers. I picked up a set of SDA2's that need a little cosmetic work but sound great. I was wondering how to tell which SDA2's i have. Picture included. The cable is of the blade-blade type if that matters. Thanks for any info in advance.

    Welcome to the forum!

Those are most likely SDA 2-A's. If you pull the drivers and check the part numbers, it will provide more info.

If they are both the same (MW6510), you have 2As.

Enjoy! The blade/blade interconnect is pretty solid evidence that they're A's.

Yep, blade/blade and the cabinet style say SDA 2A. If you didn't get the owners manual, call Polk and ask them to kindly send one to you. It will explain proper set up, which by the looks of things you need to do.

    Welcome to the forum.

I got curious and pulled the drivers and they are both MW6510's so I have SDA2a's. How do these rate as speakers? I have heard the SDA effect from these after i adjusted the positioning and it was quite startling! I had sounds coming from off to the sides and above that kinda freaked me out at first. I'm driving these with a Pioneer A-77X integrated rated at 100wpc into 8 ohms.

The better the gear, the better they sound. You have a nice pair of speakers, treat them well.

Does that Pioneer have pre-outs? If it does, when you get the chance, try putting a seperate amp on those babies.

Oh and welcome to the Club. I just sold my 2As to another Polkie. They were my first set of SDAs and were quite amazing for them only having 2 drivers. Once you upgrade gear, like Jesse said, they'll just get better and better. Go ahead and call Polk Customer Service and order the silk replacement tweeters. You can get them for $48 each, including shipping, by just mentioning that you're a Club Polk member. You'll be happy that you did the upgrade...a dramatic improvement over the SL2000 tweeters that are in them now.

What are the speakers sitting on top of the 2As??
