Isolated banks on power conditioner

I'm getting ready to replace my defective Panamax 1000+ for a real deal line conditioner. Panamax will let you upgrade to a new piece for 1/2 price off their retail, which is damn good. Buy one on Ebay, tell them its defective (it will be eventually as they have a fatal flaw like mine) and get a new piece 1/2 price! All you have to do is send them the cord after you get your new piece.

I am ready to purchase, but I am trying to decide if it is worth the extra money to get a model with isolated banks. It makes sense to me to eliminate cross contamination, but of course, I don't have the opportunity to audition, and none of the models locally are actually hooked up to anything. Didn't know if this was just hype. Just curious what those in the know think. Here is the model with the upgraded banks followed by the one without. I don't believe there is any difference other than the isolated banks, an added amp meter (is this important) and price.
