Has anyone ever had problems with birds pecking holes in their house? I have cedar siding and I hear peck peck peck all day long! Today I spent 12 hours straight fixing 14 1" bird holes! What the hell? I have maced them, sprayed them with antifreeze and wasp spray, put out one of those stupid plasic owls and tried covering the existing holes. They wont leave me alone. Any ideas???
I think it is the purity of the tube amps or the width of soundstage from the SDA's that keep them coming back but I'm not sure. Seriously, anyone know how to put an end to it? I am not above killing every freakin bird within 10 miles.

must be the sda's............glad I don't have that problem, just got those stupid tiny ants and they are a pain in the **** to exterminate, if that even works which usually doesn't........good luck getting rid of them though, you have my sentiments.

    Man,
Let me tell you, I wish I only had an ant problem. I could spread two gallons of gas and burn the mothers out if that is what it took. Birds are much worse!!! Thanks for the sentiments though. There is a group of people that think mean sounding (recorded) monkeys scare them away but even that has been dismissed because they say the birds are too stupid to know they are in danger. Get this, I filled in all the holes but now I hear birds behind the shower! Stupid assed things just stayed in there while I filled in the holes. Well, they are in there now. I hope they don't smell bad. This is f'in rediculous!!!!!!!

My wife said they generally don't like movement around the area, and thought a wind sock or something like that might do it. Balloons could freak out your neighbors, too.

Alright, jeez, for the sake of helping you out, I'll take care of your SDA's until you can get rid of the birds. :D

We have this problem at our house. The woodpecker always pecks in a perfectly straight line (horizontally). It took us awhile to figure it out, but our wood siding has horizontal grooves in it (possibly to allow for expansion) which correspond exactly to the woodpecker holes. Little insects must craw into this grooves, and the woodpecker must hear them. That's our working theory, anyway. He's done some serious damage to our house over the years. I think you can claim insurance for the damage, though.

I have my BB Gun with scope all ready to go. Every time I go after him (or her), he always flys away. One of these days I'm gonna snipe that ****!

    Those f**king birds!
I had a cardinal two springs ago that would chest butt the window in my home office at the crack of dawn. I covered that window with cardboard thinking I'd get some sleep the next morning. HA! no way, that sob moved to the next window. Then I covered all the windows on that side of the house. The next morning he's at the front bedroom window. I broke out the BB gun. I'm a hell of shot, but I couldn't get that sob, so after a week of that I borrowed a shot gun, that worked. Not quite your problem, but I can relate. This might work for you, I use strips of orange nylon on the rigging of the sailboat to try and keep the birds at the marina from pooping on the deck. You could attach this to your siding with thumb tacks, put alot of them up, all over the place. I don't know for sure, (it helps on the boat) but worth trying. If you've got any neighbors you might want to let them in on what you're doing or they might start thinking you've lost it.
    Good Luck!

A few months back, at the beginning of spring, I had a bird trying to fly thru my bay windows. I have 4, and he almost always tried for the same one every time. It was a fat **** bird, and would the noise would wake us up, because he would start at daylight every morning. And it's not like he would hit it once, then go. He would fly full speed into it, bounce off, then gain momentum forward again and try again. It started to spook me after a while. I borrowed a friend's BB gun, but could never get a shot off. He would leave when I opened the door.
One day, when I was sitting on my couch, he tried it again. But this time it made a crunching noise, and left a spot that looks like blood on the window. He flew off, and I never saw him again.
I would like to hope that he's dead, but I bet he'll come back again next spring. If he does, forget the bb gun, I'm getting my shotgun out.

The birds consider the roof rack on my Grand Cherokee to be a
"****" rack. I see them swoop down, perch, ****, and then fly right away. I'm considering a big owl sticker for the roof to keep my windows clean.

Birds, nothing a .22 Winchester loaded with CB.22 rounds can't take care of:) No louder than a cap gun, yet much more effective.

Hotwheelman! What are you doing to me! I'm jinxed now. I got up this morning and had 20 some little ants running on my counter top! I'm serious! I wonder if working on the siding all afternoon drew them in somehow? I have never seen an ant in my house for the past 10 years!

I don't know what is up with the ants! I'll try the lysol. I swear, I have never seen an ant in the house until this morning! The birds seem to be gone since I filled their holes though. I really would rather have the ants. I guess I got my wish!
