Crossover Freq. Monitor 60 and 40

Everything I seem to read on the net about crossovers reminds me of my physics class. I have an outlaw 970 pre/proccessor and it allows me to change the crossover frequency for each of my channels. Since the Monitor 60's do not have a subwoffer in them I set them to small but now I am confused of what frequency to set the crossover for. Same thing for my monitor 40 speakers. If anyone could post a good site that explains properly tunning a home theatre sound system that would be great. Confused and want to try playing with my new toy heh.

This is a GREAT site for tuning (calibrating) your home theater. Lots of posts on the topic, lots of info.

As far as the crossover setting, I'd start at 60 and see how it goes. Both of those speakers are capable of running full range in music systems, but I'd do just enough to keep the intense LFE info in most movies out of them.

    Cheers,

That's what I got my monitor 40 fronts crossed over at is 60 and I think it sounds pretty good. I used to have it at 100 and decided that it didn't really have the "full" sound I KNOW I can get out of my speakers so I tuned it all the way down.
Don't forget to look at My Home Theater :D
