Dead Rising and GRAW would be the two I buy.
Congrats on it, did you ever talk to Avelanchefan about the question you had? -
What question was that?
As for games GRAW is a must. Even the single player is fantastic. LOTR: BFME2 is an excellent choice if you are into real time strategy(RTS). Hmmm what else....Deadrising is another excellent choice...NCAA07 I still am enjoying after a month of play....Save your JUJU's for some Xbox Live arcade games like frogger, UNO, StreetFighter, and pacman. (UNO is literally crack) Also Oblivion is fantastic...although I have not played it in months.
Looking forward to the WSOP release in september...us fellas will have to go and buy it so we can play some Texas Hold Em' together.
I have all the Xbox releases just ask if you want to know something. (except for Final Fantasy...not playing another monthly subscription for that, and Prey)
Stay away from OverG fighters, Amped3, and Quake 4.
Live gamertag is avelanchefan -
I guess that means he didn't.

LOL...hey love the PIC in the Clubpolk Picture thread.

hah! thanks. Here's what he said in a PM (I assume it's okay to post this):
"I'm thinking of getting the 360 as I could get it for $320... but I'm thinking of modding it to accept bittorrent Xbox 360 games. The only thing is that I dont think I can go online."
I think you know all about this, Sean, so maybe help him out in a PM. -
$60 for Poker on a console? I use Pokerstars.net theirs plenty of users online...graphics arent as good but its free.Setup:
2 Channel: Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand, T+A P 1230R, Primare SPA21, Oppo BDP-105
PC: Vienna Acoustics Haydn Grand, Cambridge Azure 650A v2 , Peachtree iDAC, Denon DVD-3800BDCI -
Yes but you have live chat so you can talk smack instead of typing which just is not the same.
+it's 40 dollars not 60.
PM sent to Joey...thanks Demi -
Joey, not sure if you have GRAW on PC or not, remember you having a fairly high end PC though.
I bought it on PC last week and really like it. My friend brought his 360 to let me try it there, and the graphics were lacking a bit when compared to my PC.
I'm not saying they were bad on the 360 - that would be a ludicrous statement. But, if you're used to playing this on the PC with all settings maxed out, the 360 will be a step backwards in graphics.
For reference, I'm running a 3700+ San Diego, 2GB CAS 2 RAM, WD Raptor drive, and 7950 SLI card. With a lesser PC, the difference may not be noticeable, but with the above machien there is considerable difference, especially on the physics side...
Just my $.02 -
NP --
Are you going to get Madden? I haven't played a Madden series in over 3 years, so I figure I'd give it a shot again. It would be cool if we could get a small Club Polk team to play together against other on-line teams.
Would anyone be up for this? I'll post this in the other thread if there is interest. -
*sigh* I really wish the PC people would have their own threads instead of constantly coming into the 360 threads just to talk about the superiority of the PC. We know the graphics can be better, and yadda yadda yadda.
-
Xbox 360 graphics are great, if you don't mind being stuck in 2004-2005.
-
Demi, I wasn't coming in here "just to talk about the superiority of the PC" - a quick read back through my thread will reveal that.
I even went out of my way to say the graphics on the 360 were not bad, because I saw your post coming a mile away...
My post wasn't intended to bash the 360 or whatever. Hell, there may be games that look better on the 360 - this just isn't one of them.
I just remembered Joey posting some PC specs a while back and it being a reasonably high end machine, and wanted to share that if he had this on the PC and was used to those graphics, that the 360 wouldn't quite bee up to par.
He said this is the first game he was buying for the 360, and I just mentioned this as I didn't want his first experience to be a dissapointment. -
I never said you were here to bash it. It's just that nearly every thread about the 360 turns into a war between the 360, PC, or the PS3 which isn't even out yet. That may well not have been your intention, but it keeps happening.
I'm just saying those of us who bought the 360 did so for a reason, we like to game on consoles sometimes. We obviously all have PCs or MACs that we can game on, some better than others.
Just stating my thoughts, you can obviously do and say whatever you want. -
PManiac,
My PC is top of last generations.... 6800Ultra oc'ed, etc, etc....
However, I'm tired of having to upgrade and would like to play games that run good and play well cooperatively.
I *think* that the 360 offers a better online gameplay experience and better coop capabilities with regards to being able to play against my brothers or friends sitting right next to me.
I'll still use my PC to play boots of not-so-great games, but I think I'll use the 360 for the games that I really want to delve into.
GRAW got a 78% for PC, but a 92% for 360 on gamespot btw.Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R -
Gameplay and such may be better on the 360, didn't get enough time with that particular game to know...
From what I've seen, the 360 seems to be the more popular choice when it comes to gaming, and alot of games I've seen get better reviews on that. GRAW is one of those games where I think not only the graphics are different, but the game content may be different as well...
ANYWAY, didn't intened for this to be a PC vs 360 debate, carry on... -
Don't compare the two. GRAW PC and 360 were made by different development teams. Totally different.
and Oblivion is my favorite 360 game so far.My Iron Man training/charity blog.

Oh, and apparently you should be wary of Dead Rising if you don't have an HDTV. It is one of several Xbox360 games where the text is almost unreadable on normal TVs

PManiac,
Dont take it the wrong way... I really really really thought about the PC as my main gaming machine.... I mean, I'm not 100% sure yet that I'll keep the 360.
I just got it but havent played a game on it yet.

Bingo! -
GRAW is a simple no brainer. Dead Rising is outstanding as well, but not a must, not yet for me anyways.
