I already have a Polk C400.4 amp and since i'm not made of money, I need to us it to run my sub(s)
So my question is... What would sound better powered by the 400.4 amp???
(1) Two(2) MM2084 subs in a Ported or Bandpass Box [C400.4 - 200W @ 4Ohms per Sub]?
(2) One(1) MM2124DVC sub in a Ported Box [C400.4 - 200W @ 4Ohms per Coil]?
Oh and I'm not looking for a Sealed Box because I prefer Some Boom in my BASS

Dont run a single DVC sub off a 4 channel amp. Too hard to get the gains set the same.
If youre going to use the 400.4 for subs then its better to go with 2 subs. So get the pair of 8's.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Ok... But what if I set both gains to full on the 400.4?
I would hope that the amp would be balanced in its output on both sides! -
i dont know a whole lot about speakers but iv herd 3 8's and they kinda were week they were good brand cant remember what brand maybe pioneer but its what you like if u like just a lil bit of bass that buzzes then i would say the 8's but if u want some deeper bass that u well feel in ur belly go with a mono mm 2124 svc and it will be tight u could prob pump 2 of that amp till u can get the money to get a new amp

If you set both the gains to max, youd clip the amp and blow your subs.
Get the pair of 8's.
I recommend the sealed cause they just sound better but if you prefer the ported build a ported box and if its properly built, you will be happy with a pair of 8's pushed by a 400.4
You wont be the loudest dude in the world but you will get solid output.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
