Innersound Eros with the 200WPC active crossover bass amp.

I really got hooked by the sound of Normanality's so I snagged a pair of dealer demos in excellent condition off Audiogon. Matter of fact, Norm spotted them and let me know. See, I sleep during the day while he works and checks Audiogon's new listings every few minutes. :D

    Nice choice in speakers! :D

I had a little email conversation with Roger Sanders and he's getting back into the audio market under SandersSoundSystems. At first he's re-releasing his ESL amp and preamp and there's ESL speaker cable in production. Would be great if he would come out with a reasonably priced ESL again since the old Innersound company is only interested in the big guns.

I'll have to stop by and listen. There is NO way I'm ditching my VR-2's for these. Not saying the ESL's aren't outstanding, just that I have no money and even less room. speakers Rich!

It's amazing how you and Norm put very similar rigs together  ;):p:D

Oh my, you change speakers faster than I change my jeans. Speech, Rich, let us know how you hook them up and the "system" pics, of course.

:D This should suffice for quite some time Fred. Unless another pair of Eros MKIII's come up in Atomic Silver and Norm doesn't get to them first.:p

Right now I have them connected quick and dirty with passive crossovers Norm aquired from Innersound. We also wanted to hear the difference between the two crossovers. We expect the difference will be that the passive crossover will sound warmer, and not as clear and detailed as the active. The passives also lower the sensitivity.

I've been wanting to get a different rack, and now I need one to fit the additional gear. The bass amp contains the active crossover, so I must connect pre to bass amp, and bass amp to my TAD-1000 mono's for the panels. Innersound also provided the option of shutting off their bass amp so you can add an external amp of your own. That is the configuration Norm chose to go with, using one TAD-60 for the woofers and one for the panels.

    I don't think so...

Nice pre amp. With the right tubes it can be vivid and detailed. It appears to be priced fairly, as new with the phono and remote. The BAT phono card doesn't sound bad either, and it has switchable gain for use with MM or MC cartridges. I love the five user programmable volume pre sets and the fade option on the remote.

IIRC, BAT's warranty is not transferable (if that might be an issue for you). I tried the same tubes that are included with that 3ix (Siemens 7308) in my 3i and they warmed up the sound too much for me.
