Bi-Wiring RT800i question
I plan to bi-wire my RT800i's (bi-amp them later). According to the manual, the suggest running two sets of speaker cable out of each terminal on the back of the receiver. I'm using banana plugs that can be 'daisy chained'-- that is, plugged into one another from behind.
Is the optimum method to plug the one set of banana plugs into the binding posts on the receiver, then the 2nd set into the back of those banana plugs?
I don't suppose this changes the resistance any, does it?
Anything else to worry about?
Thanks,
Joe

Uhhmm if I understood you right... that setup is incorrect. To correctly bi-wire a bi-wirable speaker, like the RT800... First, your receiver will have to have bi-wire capability, meaning two separate terminals (A+B) for the main speakers. 2nd, you remove the metal jumper connectors from the binding posts of your RT800s. The bi-wirable receiver will separate the low and high frequency signals to each corresponding output and you connect this to each of the designated inputs to your speakers... kinda hard for me to explain, but the manual of your receiver should show you this in a more graphical and easy-to-understand way, that is IF your receiver is capable of bi-wiring.My system:

Hello Joe,
Thanks for participating in the Forum. You are correct, the "stack-able" banana plugs are a convenient way of getting two sets of speaker wires connected to one set of binding posts. It is not necessary to have an "A+B" connection on the receiver.

I guess I misunderstood haha!!! I initially thought that he was also connecting the two sets of speaker cables from the same terminals on the receiver side... so that would basically not be "bi-wiring"My system:
