I got in to Buffet about 30 years ago and have been a fan ever since. Finished the 2 disc set this evening and I thought it was very good. Kick back a few cold ones and enjoy this one. Any more coral reefers out there?

    Did you say reefer?:D

I enjoy JB, but I'm not a fanatic fan like some of those "parrot heads". I loved "Changes in Latitudes - Changes in Attitudes" when it first came out (1977?)

Long before Parrotheads, fans were called coral reefers.

Coral Reefer is the name of his band. Goes all the way back to his first album of his current genre "A White Sport Coat and A Pink Crustacean". The fans have never been call that.

    Shack,

Yes, his band is named that; however, in the early days Jimmy referred to his fans as Coral Reefers too. Watch an old video of his concerts and you'll see/hear him mention this.

I was at his concerts in the early days. I never heard him refer to the fans that way.

His restaurants fall into the same catagory as Planet Hollywood, The Hard Rock Cafe, The Nascar Cafe, etc. All overpriced, middle-of-the-road food. You are basically paying for the name/atmosphere.

His music/shows are very entertaining without having to analyze lyrics or look for any "deep meaning". A summer party atmosphere.
