The thing has instructions on how to add an additional drive.....why would you have to replace the case?

It depends really. If they are using proprietary hardware, you might not be able to just switch cases. Some companies use daughter boards for the mobo that screw everything up. Weird power supplies that wouldnt do the trick in a real atx case, things like that. Some of the front panel buttons/ports may not be supported by another case either.

Just a few things to look into first. I would just make sure its all generic hardware first before looking at getting another case.

Just get a USB2.0 external drive kit and get your extra space that way. Either that or just upgrade the size of the drives you already have inside.

Yeah, waht Brett said. Switching a case is a huge pain in the ****, and probably not worth it.

Are all of your 5.25" drive bays taken up? You can get 3.5"->5.25" converter things, so you can put your ahrd drive in a bigger bay.

Id agree with Brett as well. Getting an external drive wouldnt use up any more case space and and would keep your case as cool as it is now.

Plus, you could use the drive on another pc if needed.

I did this last summer to make carrying files around easier and it has been great. Got myself a nice looking Vantec enclosure and threw in my old 15gig mp3 drive until I got myself a 300gig for christmas this past year. They always have the retail externals that are ready to go on Bens Bargains if you keep your eyes open.
